3 Must-Have Sales

1 Jul

Lord knows I do my fair share of online shopping, but if I’m going to be tempted I’d rather be tempted by an irresistible online SALE! Here are three fantastic online sales and three fantastic products to go along with them.

1.CB2: Lucinda Stacking Chair

Screen Shot 2013-06-30 at 11.10.08 PM Enjoy 40% off select outdoor furniture now through July 4th at CB2. My favorite outdoor product is their Lucinda stacking chair, sold in both white and orange. Not only are these chairs sleek, modern and versatile, but they are stackable, which makes them easy to store. I’m such a fan of these chairs that I’d use them outdoors during the warm months and indoors as extra seating during Fall and Winter.

2. Wedding Paper Divas: With Evening Sparkle Wedding Invitation Screen Shot 2013-06-30 at 11.19.27 PMThis amazing stationery meca has up to 20% off wedding invites now through July 2nd! 15% off $149 and 20% off $249 using code wed20june. Words cannot describe how much I love this Gatsby inspired invitation. I’m not even engaged, but I’d find someone to marry me now if it meant being able to send this sparkly invite out to my guests. If you like the look of this, head to the website immediately to see the back!

3. J.Crew Factory: 3″ Scalloped Eyelet ShortScreen Shot 2013-06-30 at 11.27.34 PM50% off EVERYTHING J. Crew Factory in stores and online now through July 7th! J. Crew Factory is always a safe bet. The clothes are well made and with J.Crew’s classic style, it’s impossible not to find something you like. I’m a big fan of these navy blue scalloped eyelet shorts. Paired with a nautical  tucked in tee-shirt, they are preppy with a 1940’s twist.

IMG_6180Over the past 6 months, I’ve been planning my first large-scale event, the wedding of my friend and her wonderful fiance. Planning a wedding on a budget in six months has not been easy, but it has been the most rewarding experience of my post-grad life. I’m so grateful for this beautiful couple and so honored to be part of their special day and since I recently accepted a full-time event planning position I will get the chance to be an integral part of many couples big days.

IMG_6182IMG_6194This is just one of the many things we’re DIY’ing for the July 5th wedding, but I wanted to give you all a sneak peek of what’s to come. By spray painting wooden letters and plaques from a craft store and strategically tying up some blush colored ribbon, I was able to create a simple Mr. & Mrs sign. Their rustic meets romantic and whimsical mountain top wedding will be the perfect setting for this custom keepsake.  IMG_6169

I’ve been a fan of BHLDN since it launched in 2011, but it wasn’t until my friend mentioned the site this past weekend that I realized the true greatness of this online wedding shop. Created by the same geniuses as Anthropologie, BHLDN offers everything from wedding dresses to tabletop decor. You can find unique gifts, party-goer attire and reception decor. Everything they sell is vintage elegance with a hint of quirk. Here are a few of my favorites, but be sure to check out the entire website; you won’t regret it.

Poolside Party

6 Jul

This past weekend I travled home to NH to celebrate my best friend’s bachelorette party. This blushing bride enjoys low keys settings so we surprised her with cocktails by the pool followed by a delicious tapas dinner out on the town. The poolside party was the perfect backdrop for our pre-Aruba destination wedding! I used this opportunity as an excuse to put my party planning skills to the test.

            {Watermelon Essie Nailpolish for our pre-wedding mani/pedis}

The colors of our bridesmaids dresses are called “watermelon” so I thought it would be fitting to supply everyone with the same shade in my favorite nail polish brand.

An array of fuchsia flowers in assorted vases with matching plates and napkins set the table scape.

Although not photographed, we also enjoyed some pre-tapas dinner tapas. To go along with our pink theme, we sipped strawberry belinis and enjoyed some crackers with goat cheese smothered with rhubarb jam. Also, we snacked on some “pink” shrimp cocktail.

For fun, I filled a candy dish with ringpops so all our future brides to be wouldn’t feel left out.
