Over the past 6 months, I’ve been planning my first large-scale event, the wedding of my friend and her wonderful fiance. Planning a wedding on a budget in six months has not been easy, but it has been the most rewarding experience of my post-grad life. I’m so grateful for this beautiful couple and so honored to be part of their special day and since I recently accepted a full-time event planning position I will get the chance to be an integral part of many couples big days.
This is just one of the many things we’re DIY’ing for the July 5th wedding, but I wanted to give you all a sneak peek of what’s to come. By spray painting wooden letters and plaques from a craft store and strategically tying up some blush colored ribbon, I was able to create a simple Mr. & Mrs sign. Their rustic meets romantic and whimsical mountain top wedding will be the perfect setting for this custom keepsake.
This past weekend in New York City was full of buts. It was sunny, but chilly. Boring, but hectic. And productive, but relaxing. Here are my 5 BUTS of the weekend. Essie’s Fiji with a gold tip manicure. My post-Vday nails are sweet BUT sassy.
A trip to our favorite dog park in the city was fun, BUT freezing. At Carl Schurz Park where Chip (left) met his new twin. They were running so fast I confused Chip for his new buddy a dozen times. The two formed a frenchie pack and ruled the dog park.My Saturday was busy, BUT rewarding. After an exciting night in mopping my floors I ended up spending three hours rearranging my furniture. All that hard work meant a delicious Two Boots pizza delivered directly to my door. Small whole wheat garlic pie, half cheese and half spinach, mushroom and Sicilian sausage. This one doesn’t need a BUT because it will just go directly to my BUTT. Every week I discover something new at Trader Joe’s. This one was a no brainer for me.
Have a wonderful, BUT speedy Monday.
“The Lady Down The Hall” was my least favorite song to sing in voice lessons, but it certainly came in handy for this Secret Santa gift. It’s a good thing that I save every gift bag ever given to me because I reused this green patterned bag to create a tree shaped label. Avery color coding labels bring out my love for both Christmas and polkadots. I don’t care if the glitter sheds everywhere, glitter bows are always the way to go.Bringing a little nature from the outside inside adds texture and a wonderful pine smell.
