Buttermilk Scones

3 May

IMG_4987Nothing goes better with a garden party than a batch of warm scones. Having never made scones before I decided to start simple with a delicious buttermilk scone. Not to mention I had left over buttermilk in my refrigerator from baking my baked cake doughnutsIMG_4916IMG_4918What You’ll Need:

3 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup buttermilk

I followed the Food network’s recipe here.

These look wonderful! I was going to make buttermilk biscuits tomorrow for the Kentucky Derby but now I think I am going to make the buttermilk scones instead! Thanks for the inspiration!
